Magnificently realistic magpie decoy, renowned for its unparalleled realism and featuring a flocked coating to eliminate glare from sun/rain. Designed to attract and fool the smartest of magpies and will look great with other flocked crow and magpie decoys when placed with a call bird in a caged larsen trap or hung on an awning or tree in the field. The convenient ground spike allows the decoy to be free-standing or pegged into soft soil/ground.

For those of you who don’t know magpies are bold, noisy birds that make their presence known by their harsh calls. They are part of the same family as crows and ravens and are very intelligent, for example they can learn to hide food to eat later. Magpies are a very common sight on country roads, in fields and orchards where they can be found feeding off road kill or stealing apples and nuts from other fruit trees.

These flocked magpie decoys can be used in conjunction with the Multi Larsen Trap, Solway Larsen Trap and the Magpie Catcher Trap. They also come with a length of wooden dowel that can be driven into the ground to secure the decoys. These magpie decoys are not a substitute for bait and should always be used in conjunction with a call bird as they will attract the attention of other wild magpies and a trap set with a call bird is up to fifteen times more likely to catch them than a trap without.
